:'(Now that Heartland Home is closed we need to let the Commissioners know that we DO NOT want this building sold, that we want it to be used for the use and benefit of the county. The taxpayers did not pass the levy in 1974 so that the Commissioners in 2009 can profit from it. And I do not for one minute believe the Commissioners in 1850 purchased the acreage only to have these three stooges use it to pull their fat out of the fire. Their inability to handle the finances of this county as is their duty should not cost the citizens this way. In fact, it should not cost the taxpayer at all. The three responsible for fiscal irresponsibility should have to foot the bill with some of the unearned funds they have taken by way of a paycheck. I think it is amazing that all the other departments are taking cuts but our Commissioners are still collecting their full checks. I don't care what kind of costs they cut within their department, if part of those cuts don't include a reduction in pay for the Commissioners who, no matter how you look at it are PART TIME employees, then the cuts are not deep enough. We have already lost this wonderful home, let's not lose anymore.

>:(The Commissioners held a special meeting this morning, 5/11/09, with all department heads to discuss the budget. In this meeting the possibility of selling Heartland Home was discussed. We are running VERY short on time to stop the sale of this home. EVERYBODY needs to get their family, neighbors, friends and anyone you come in contact with on board to prevent the sale of the home. It is quite interesting to look at the charts presented by Cindy Funk of the last 9 years income and expenses. With the new generation of Commissioners, our spending has increased over 3 million dollars. They can't blame this on Heartland Home, although I am sure they would like to try. PLEASE, if you want to help get this home opened back up or even keep it in the community for the use of the community, get as much support as you can. The group can't do anything until funds start coming in to help pay legal fees. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!
