>:(I am so tired of the TG and the lies that are told, whether straight from the Commissioners or not. In the TG today there is an article about the paychecks for Heartland Home and in this article it states "Citing budget shortfalls related to the economic crisis, commissioners slashed subsidies for Heartland Home, forcing its closure." We all know that this is NOT the reason for this home closing, it was the short sightedness of the Commissioners and their unwillingness to hand off management to anyone else, God forbid should it be found out they mismanaged it all these years. It is disgusting how they (the Commissioners) keep the lies coming.

Politics 101 - blame something else that will deflect heat away from you and the real reason. I remember in a History class having a teacher talk about a famous propaganda minister saying that if you tell a lie long enough, people will believe it. Politicians have learned this well since World War II.

The commissioners have had an agenda for the past several years and although they should take some responsibility for their actions, they will not because they seem to feel they are above the law and can do whatever they decide to do! Politics are playing a big part in the government, city, county, and country, and as citizens hopefully we can band together and take our city, county and country back and live by the Golden Rule ~~"Do unto others as you would have others do unto you!"

There is a popularized version of the golden rule that states: do unto others before they do it to you!

Gunny, I think you are correct! Perhaps we should have used that version of the Golden Rule before and got to them before they turned on us! But then that is not what how we were raised to do, and so now all we can do is hope and pray they can be pushed back into the woodwork and we can get some truthful and responsible players on the Team to represent the voting citizens of Ashland County!!

Don't hold your breath former employees, the checks may be sent out after the commissioners take their good old time to see what they can trim, bet they just may try to do something like that! How can you trust them, they seem to find all kinds of ways to get out of doing things?

I have heard that even though the vacation checks for the Heartland Home employees have gone out, they went out short!!! Imagine that!!! They wait a month before issuing the checks and then short change the employees who stayed until the end. Some thank you!!!

I have heard from good authority that at least one vacation check was short hours, and also that another check was held because the commissioners had a question to ask the person and that person's check was still on the desk, and wasn't sent out even after the question was answered!! Has no one else in the commissioners office ever heard of a telephone call to ask a question? Is this not just plain dereliction of duty to send out the checks and withhold one and wait for someone to question it, before having the person receive what is rightfully that person's? If someone can answer my question I will appreciate it!

Guest, what you have heard on both accounts is true and accurate. I agree 100% that the Commissioners could have and should have simply made a phone call and asked their questions. I believe it is against the law to hold a check "hostage" basically but as long as nobody does anything about it, the Commissioners can do whatever they want. They have all these years because it is next to impossible to get an attorney to go up against them. It isn't that they (the Commissioners) are operating within the law, only that nobody has been able to retain a lawyer that will force them to pay the penalty for breaking the law.
