This goes out to all who have served in the Armed Forces of this country, THANK YOU! One day is not enough to show gratitude for all you have done for the rest of us. You all are in our family prayers and we honor you every day. God bless you and happy Veterans Day.

Paraphrasing Winston Churchill: Never has so many owed so much to so few. Our Vets live the phrase:"We take care of own own" because their own is the people of the United States and yes taking care of those who need a bit of assistance. Now a bit of a soapbox, I remember a Memorial Day remembrance several years ago when a Minister and former U.S. Marine said this before his benediction: " politicians be damned, let the Military fight the Wars." I agreed then and I agree now. For the record the politicians in attendance didn't like the remark but the rest of us did.

I agree with Howard and Gunny, we all owe everything to our military past and present and to their family members who suffered along side them. We do not do enough for our military and one day is definitely not sufficient to say thank you. We should say it everyday when we see one of our military in the store or on the street. Let them know they are appreciated.

It was 2 or maybe three years ago at an Ashland football game. My son and myself were going up the bleachers when I happened to some how start a conversation with a fan. He had on a Military baseball type cap. He noticed that I couldn't see all of it so he bent his head down. On it said USMC - it could have said Army, Navy or Air Force - and my actions would have been the same. I snapped to and gave him a crisp salute and a thank you for keeping me and my family safe. He was an older gentleman - Korean conflict - and he, stood up, and snapped to attention as he returned my salute. Many around us didn't notice but I owe him and all vets a debt I can't pay. You are correct Eshterlike - we should thank them everywhere we see them.
